Q2 DIgital Banking Platform at CONNECT 26

Financial institutions that operate most efficiently aren't using more tools. They're using fewer, better ones.

Q2 Console is Q2's unified back-office platform, giving teams a single solution to:

  • Improve user efficiency
  • Personalize account holder experience
  • Deliver better service
  • Access data for ongoing optimization

At CONNECT 2026, financial institution leaders and Q2 experts shared what the latest version of Console now makes possible.

A unified platform your entire team can use—quickly and simply

For internal teams, Console's most fundamental value is simple and powerful: one platform, one login, team-wide.

Through single sign-on, employees across every function can access Q2 applications without re-entering credentials or switching between systems. Updates deploy automatically and every new feature is available immediately upon release. It means no upgrade cycles to for  the financial institution to manage.

Alecia VanderPlas, senior system administrator at Bank Iowa, conveyed the benefits for the 300+ team members using Console at her institution this way:

"Because the logins are single sign-on, everyone is in right away, without putting in an extra password. We're able to do the training in real time, and we're training them as they're using the solution. And we're spending a lot less time training between systems simply by using Console. It's a simplified, unified experience across the entire FI," VanderPlas said.

Single sign-on and less time switching between systems are big wins. They’re the foundation of more efficient, focused operations institution-wide.

Personalize the account holder experience, without a support case

One of the most significant features for financial institutions is the power to configure and personalize the digital banking experience without submitting a support request or waiting for a project timeline.

Experience Builder, available exclusively in Console, empowers internal teams to:

  • Update layout
  • Create targeted content blocks
  • Manage navigation
  • Deliver personalized experiences to specific audience segments

This is all accessible from within the Console interface. No support cases or project queues. Enhancements deploy when your team is ready.

Bank Iowa is using this capability to drive measurable business results. VanderPlas described how her team directly connected Q2 SMART’s audience targeting to Experience Builder, delivering a personalized experience to Bank Iowa credit-card customers.

Q2’s content blocks provide tailored messaging on the digital banking dashboard. In this case, Bank Iowa highlights card controls, activation steps, and e-statement enrollment, automatically delivered to exactly the right segment of account holders at login.

"We're delivering an integrated experience with Q2," VanderPlas said. "We're bringing people to the next right thing, and we are not engaging any FTE resources."

The consumer credit card experience results were so strong that Bank Iowa is now applying the same approach for CD specials and a business credit card program.

"We've seen such success with this segment that we've been able to repeat it through multiple products within the Q2 platform," VanderPlas said.

For institutions looking to personalize experiences without heavy technical resources or vendor engagement, this is the model:

  • Identify the audience in SMART

  • Build the targeted content block in Experience Builder

  • Deploy and repeat.

Secure messaging built from 600+ customer ideas

Console's secure messaging solution was built based on customer feedback. More than 600 ideas submitted through Q2's Ideas Portal are woven into the secure messaging experience. It’s one of the most community-driven products Q2 has shipped.

The result is a significantly improved workflow for customer service and support (CSR) teams. Messages are organized by thread, treating each interaction as a case or conversation rather than a collection of individual messages.

CSRs can assign messages to specific team members, forward threads internally to specialized queues like wire services or fraud operations, and filter their queue by assignee, read status, or recipient group.

Transactions and reporting with more visibility and control

Console’s powerful transaction management interface keeps improving.

The transaction queue supports advanced search across multiple criteria simultaneously, with customizable column selection across sessions.

On the reporting side, Console offers a security data dashboard with a clear view of an institution's platform security posture, including:

  • Authentication scores
  • Transaction authorization settings
  • Administrative configurations benchmarked against other Q2 customers

An upgraded audit investigation report, in early adoption, returns results in the UI in real time, allowing internal teams to preview and refine queries before downloading, eliminating the frustrating cycle of running a report, downloading it, discovering it wasn't quite right and starting over.

Additional reporting enhancements coming soon include customizable visualizations and scheduled report delivery by email.

Data Studio: A smarter way to access data

Data Studio is Q2's modern data access solution. Rather than receiving daily snapshot files that require custom logic to process and maintain, you get access to Q2 data, which refreshes daily. Its built-in data dictionary reflects a full year of historical data.

"If we add a data element, it's there tomorrow, no waiting," said Q2’s Angie Rowe.

Institutions already using Data Studio quickly see the value.

First Bank Vice President of Digital Banking John Shalte, whose institution was among the earliest Data Studio adopters, described his team’s experience with combined Q2 data and core system data in Snowflake. The combination of Q2 and core data is enabling First Bank to answer questions it couldn't before.

"Instead of just looking at digital adoption numbers, we look at more of the why questions—the demographics behind that, the additional things that may be influencing utilization, or utilization, of our our digital products,” Shalte said.

Gilbert Bernal, senior data analytics leader at MVP Financial Corp. and a beta participant in Data Studio, described an implementation that took his team less than one night to complete. Bernal highlighted the built-in data dictionary as a standout feature.

"Having those data definitions is extremely beneficial. We need them for our data governance standards. We're able to identify the fields we need to protect on our side so we can add our tagging and masking policies,” he said.

First Bank is now building toward two high-value use cases made possible by Data Studio:

  • Dynamic external transfer limits driven by a real-time risk model
  • More sophisticated SMART trait building that feeds personalized experiences and downstream marketing campaigns.

"Now that we've got the data in one place, we can start creating dynamic traits and populations and groups in SMART that can drive different experiences," Shalte said. "It's a wealth of possibilities from a marketing perspective alone."

Data Studio is generally available today for financial institutions with Snowflake. A non-Snowflake access option is in early adopter development, with general availability targeted in late 2026.

The bottom line

Console empowers teams to:

  • Configure better experiences to win and keep account holders
  • Manage back-office operations for greater efficiency
  • Access data to continually make smarter decisions
